So, like.

I have kids. Children. Spawn. Offspring. I love them very much, even if I now spend every single September counting down to the first runny nose – or the first weak, wet-sounding cough, or the first slightly warm forehead, et cetera – with the kind of fervent, desperate dread of one of those bandana-wearing, handlebar-mustached NPCs in the original Oregon Trail game who tried super hard to warn you that your wagon had too many pounds of beef and bacon on it to safely ford the river but literally could not stop you from barreling forward anyway. The oxen would drown. The wagon axle would break. Half your traveling party would die of dysentery twenty miles from the Willamette Valley.

R.I.P.

I am the bandana-wearing, handlebar-mustached NPC.

My offspring are the impetuous, foolhardy pioneers with no understanding of basic physics, and their immune systems are the wagons loaded up with a frankly irresponsible amount of cured meat.

Flu season is the river.

My white blood cells are the oxen.

My sanity is the unlucky half of the traveling party that just doesn’t fucking make it, guys.

Anyway, September was an eventful month. I finalized my writing schedule for the rest of the year, LIGHT AS A FEATHER was officially released into the wild, I outlined a romance novel, the Flyers took Gritty to Switzerland. Events. There will also be events in October – pumpkin patches and apple picking and bat migration and Halloween and a werewolf story, and in November, too, which is when I’ll be publishing BREATHE UNDERWATER, the long-awaited sequel to GRAVEDIGGERS. It's about a haunted summer camp in rural Idaho. More on that later.

tl;dr

The universe is absolutely going to reward all of us for weathering the plague storm of early autumn, I have a couple of deeply thrilling announcements to make soon about what I'm working on for 2020, my three-year old attempted to stuff a whole piece of string cheese into one of the heating vents in my living room yesterday while it was on - good times, good vibes, thanks for stopping by!

xoxo

P.S. I've also updated my W.I.P. list! 👀👀👀
